- New federal law is requiring that all contractors get lead-safe certification, a new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) law.  Mandatory date goes into effect on April 22, 2010 (Earth Day.)  Any contractors caught without this certification will be fined heavily.  More information can be found on the EPA website.  (updated 4/5/2010)
